Christmas-A Holy Celebration!!!!

Christmas is celebrated all over the world on the 25th of Dec. This is day Lord Jesus Christ was born. Celebrations are held all in all parts of the world by welcoming Santa Claus and Santa even brings gifts for the young and old. Christmas carols are sung and people get together and feast as a family.
In India too people from different religions celebrate Christmas. The Christians visit the church for the midnight mass which is held on the night of the 24rth of December. New clothes are worn and a feast is prepared. In some places in India, fireworks are planned, statues of Santa Claus or anchors playing Santa move around the place. Decorations are done with the mango or banana leaves.
In Goa people offer prayers during the day time, churches are beautifully decorated. The sound of the church bells is very pleasant to the ear. In Delhi special Christmas get to-gether are organized and the theme is red and white. The spread is in the restaurants is quite different than the regular days. There is a Santa Claus in every party who gives presents to the people. Christmas is a major festival in India and is celebrated all over the country with a lot of fun and excitement!
