Ahmedabad is the biggest city in the state of Gujarat with the population of 4.52 million. The city was formed by the Muslim Sultanate ruler Ahmed Shah in 1411. He saw a hare chasing a dog in the city and he was impressed by the bravery of hare. Therefore he named the city after his name. The city thus founded and never stopped growing after that. The city has a long history of Islamic influence and therefore that could be found in many of the architectural buildings here. Once the British people came to India, they set many factories in Ahmedabad.
The city was very well known for its trades. The textile industry was growing like anything in the 19th century.
