Aina Mahal describes the beauty of theBhuj. This was built in 1750s for Maharao Lakhpatji by Ram Singh Malam, a sailor from Dwarka who had learned European art through his travels. An inverted mirror od European Orientalism is the specialty of this palace. The palace was badly damaged after the earthquake in 2001, but some parts of it were reopened for the visitors. The palace also contains remarkable information in the small museum that it has. There is a bed room which was specially designed for the king.
The bed was made of solid gold legs. There is a Fuvara Mahal where the fountains are placed. Overall, the palace looks beautiful. However it needs repair and the curators are working on it. The cost requirements are huge and they are relying on the donations. This place can be visited at all days of week at 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM. The entry fee is Rs. 10/-.
