Andhra Pradesh State Museum was recently renovated and restored to make it wonderful. The museum is located in the Public Gardens Road of Nampally area and remains open on all days at 10:30 AM to 5:00 PM except Fridays. The admission charges are minimal (Rs. 10/-) while you will have to pay extra charges for taking a camera (Rs. 100/-) inside. The museum has a wonderful collection of important archaeological works which were recovered from this region. This will take you back to the history. There is also a Buddhist sculpture gallery where you will find the sculptures and other memorable things from Buddha’s period.
There is also an exhibition that will tell you the tale of Andhra Pradesh’s Buddhist history. The museum also contains a Jain sculpture gallery where you will find wonderful art works from all over the world. There is a nice exhibition of paintings by Pakistani painter AR Chughtai. You will also get to see an Egyptian mummy here. If seen at night, with the artificial lights of the building, the museum appears beautiful. There is also a health museum nearby which one should visit. In the health museum you will find an amazing collection of medical and public health world. There is no admission fee required to enter in health museum it remains open on all days except Fridays.
