The well landscaped environs of the Botanical Gardens are located within the precincts of the Assam State Zoo and were established in 1982. Playing host to diverse species of palms, shrubs, herbs and conifers; this famous picnic spot and intriguing place of sightseeing sprawls across 85 hectares.
Orchid House is one of the oft visited places of interest in the Assam State Zoo and lures nature lovers and horticulturists with its amazing collection of over 40 species of exquisite orchids. These orchids have been collected from various places of North East India and are worth a look. The Gardens can be visited on any day of the week—except Friday.
