Assi Ghat is southernmost ghat situated in Varanasi or Banaras which is known as spiritual capital of India. This ghat has its own recognition as it is a pilgrim place located at the confluence of the sacred Ganga and Asi rivers. The two lingam are worshiped at Assi ghat one is asisangameshwar lingam which stands for lord of confluence of Asi and another massive lingam located under a peepal tree. It is prevent that people take a holy bathe before paying homage to lord Shiva.
This ghat is honored for eminent poet Tulsi Das as it is believed that he wrote the Ramcharitmanas at Assi Ghat. It is also believed that one can get the punya of all Tirthas by taking a holy dip in Assi Ghat which is referred as Assi Saimbeda Tirtha. The best time to visit this place is from January to April.
