Dattagiri, Bababudangiri and Baba Budan Giriare the names given to Baba Budangiri—an impressive mountain in the Baba Budan Giri range of the scenic Western Ghats of South India. Situated in the Chikkamagaluru District of the state of Karnataka, Baba Budangiri is renowned for its famous shrine dedicated to Baba Budan—a popular Sufi saint. This important place of pilgrimage is visited by Hindus and Muslims alike.
The popular peaks prevalent in the Baba Budan Giri Range are those of Mullayanagiri and Dattagiri, which reach up to a height of 1895 m. Known as Chandradrona Parvatha Shreni or Chandradrona Mountain Range collectively, these peaks are in the form of a crescent moon. Mullayangiri ranks as the most prominent peak of the Baba Budan Giri Range and towers to a whooping height of 1930 m (6317 ft). It is the highest mountain between the Nilgiris and the northern Himalayas.
