The Bagamandala Temple, often referred to as the 'Triveni Sangam' or the confluence of rivers Kannike and Cauvery with the pretty stream Sujyothi, is one of the holiest places in theregion of Coorg. Set in the lap of nature, Bagamandala Temple is home to four other temples are dedicated to the deities Ishwarya, Ganapathy, Subramanya and Vishnu. Also referred to as Bhagandeswhara Kshetra by many devotees, this place of high religious worth, also holds a lot of historical significance. This was the venue of the battle fought between Dodda Virarajendra, the ruler of Coorg and Tipu Sultan—the famous Indian emperor. As per narratives , the roof of this temple was destructed during the war and was later replaced by Dodda Virarajendra with silver tiles.
