Sumbal Sonawari, Bandipora and Gurez are the three prominent tehsils of Bandipora while the Vidhan Sabha constituencies comprise of Bandipora, Gurez and Sonawari. All these places are an integral part of the Baramulla Lok Sabha constituency.
This less visited tourist destination is known for its health resorts such as Zaina Lank, Athwatoo, Chitarnar, Gurez, Bhutoo, and Tulial Valley. Here, there are many beautiful picnic spots that are frequented by locals and tourists alike—the chief being Bhutoo Shrine, Athwatoo and Chitarnar.
