Bhimavaram situated in the West Godavari District in Andhra Pradesh is a well-known City Mandal. Bhimavaram is a Pancharama Kshetra because of the five temples dedicated to Lord Shiva called the Somamramam Pancharama located in the town. The Lord Shiva is called Someshvarudu in the temple and thought of as the Sadyojatha Mukha Swarupam, the Siva lingam inside the temple is believed to have been installed by the Lord Chandra, hence the name Someshwara. There is also the temple of “Mavullamma” that is popular throughout the state situated in the centre of the town, the goddess is said to be an incarnation of the goddess of Shakti Mahakali.
