The Bhrigu Lake is a located at an altitude of approximately 14,100 ft above sea level. This is located in the Kullu district, in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. This Lake is located towards the east of Rohtang Pass and is located at a distance of 6 kilometers from the village of Gulaba. One can reach the Bhrigu Lake wither by trekking which goes from the Vashishth temple. This temple is quite well known for the hot water springs.
The village of Gulaba does not have any human settlement and is an area of the Pir Panjal mountain range. As the name suggests this the Lake was originally named after Maharishi Bhrigu. As per the Hindu mythology it is believed that Bhrigu Rishi meditated here and many local gods of the Kullu region took a dip in the sacred water of the lake. Amongst all the people the most prominent was Guru Vashishth.
