Booking Cruises (was: Vacations to Go)

Just a comment about Canadians booking a cruise or other travel through an American or other non-Canadian travel agency; residents of British Columbia, Ontario and Quebec have travelers` compensation funds which reimburse travelers if a travel agency registered in one of these provinces or an end supplier (ie airline or cruise line) goes bankrupt or out of business before or during the trip. These are the BC Travel Assurance Fund, the Travel Industry Council of Ontario and the Quebec Travel Compensation Fund. If you book through an agency not registered with them, you are on your own. Also, unless the out-of-country agency has a group booked and therefore a preferred rate on the sailing you are interested in, you can most probably get the same rates through your local agency. I would recommend you check.
