Burano, Murano and Torcello & Venice to Avignon
Posted on Jul 01, 2013 by
We are thinking about a stay in Venice in mid to late August 2009 for 4-5 nights as part of a larger planned trip. We`ve visited Venice three times but have never been to Burano, Murano and Torcello mainly because we`ve spent our time wandering through the town and on the Lido. Time to branch out. We`re also very interested in visiting
the San Michele Cemetery but my internet search provides mixed information on whether or not we can visit it. The guidebooks offer plenty of information on these parts
of the archipelago and we could just continue our habit of wandering around but I`m sure have some tips and insights. So, I`d appreciate any information can offer on must-see spots and how much time to allot for them. After our stay in Venice we`ll drive to a village near Avignon, France. We haven`t decided on our route and would like to do the drive over two days. I`d appreciate some ideas on the best route for this drive and suggestions for an overnight stop about halfway between the two, avoiding any big city.
