Early next month, we`ll be travelling to China and into Tibet. Of course, we intend to view the total solar eclipse from the Qiatang River Tidal Bore viewing area on the 22nd of July - after which we are currently expecting a magnificent tidal bore. The eclipse is going to be the longest eclipse of the century and will last around 5 minutes 40 seconds at our location 90 minutes from Hangzhou.
Of course, being a little geeky, I`ll be bring 1 laptop, 1 film camera and 1 point and click digital camera thingy. Of course, there`ll be plugs / adapters etc for these things.
What I`m concerned about is how these will be treated by the Chinese at customs? Is it necessary to declare such (used) items on entry and show that they`re also being exported afterwards? What are your experiences with Chinese customs and electronics?
