The Devil’s canyon is also known as 'Devcharacho kond', in the Konkani language. This is actually a very scenic river gorge which is located near Molem, within the premises of the well known sanctuary, the Bhagwan Mahaveer Sanctuary and is a very well known spot in Goa. You could even visit this place while travelling to or from the well known tourist attraction, the Dudh Sagar waterfalls. The gorge is located close to Molem in a very scenic patch of the jungle from where the river flows in great speed so much so that it even cuts the deep gorge into solid rock. The place is not recommended for swimming as the rocks are quite slippery and there is a very strong undercurrent and it’s unbelievably deep here too. The place is believed to be cursed that nobody will be ever able to catch a fish in this canyon, and people believe that the curse still exists even today. The view from this place has no comparisons and is simply fantastic. Here you can see the foaming water cutting the rocks into two pieces which is sight very rarely seen. The surroundings are simply beautiful and showcase some of the rare wildlife specimens, like leopards, which have been seen by many people. This is truly an adventurer's call. Aptly named as the Devil's Canyon, as the way is quite risky and slippery.
