Die BahnTrain travel Booking Question
Posted on Nov 11, 2013 by
Train travel questions seem to be quite popular lately! Even though it doesn`t seem absolutely necessary, I`ve thought it best to pre-book our train travels for this trip. I`ve successfully booked our Paris to Brussels and Brussels to London legs. I`m now trying to book our Trier to Paris leg. The best price I`ve found is on the Die Bahn website ($124 cheaper than through the Rail Europe UK site for all three tickets). My dilemma is on how to retreive the tickets. 1. Print Online Option: The website will allow me to print the tickets on my computer but it also states the following, "You can only purchase online tickets for yourself (not 3rd parties, non- transferable)." It explains that you`d
present your self printed ticket with your credit card once on board. I need to book tickets for myself and two others.I went all the way through the booking process up until the very last "make purchase" button and it only asked for my credit card info and name, not my traveling companions. It was going to let me purchase three tickets but I`m concerned that I would purchase these tickets and then my traveling companions have trouble using them. Anyone have experience using the print at home ticket option with Die Bahn?
2. I considered having the tickets mailed and again, it lets me enter all of my info up until the last "make purchase" button. I entered my Georgia address and it didn`t seem to be a problem with the mail ticket option. My concern with this would be - would we receive them before our May 4th departure?
3. Other options would be to just purchase at the station upon arrival or have them mailed to our hotel in Germany. We can certainly do either of these, but would like to go
ahead and make reservations now if possible.
