Diu is a tiny ex-Potruguese island which is located at the coast of Gujarat. The natural beauty of the island wins the heart of the travelers and they often come here throughout the years. Diu is un-crowded place and therefore people who prefer peaceful environment, love it even more. The culture and the infrastructure are strongly influenced from Portuguese culture and you will find many similarities in that. The sea-food is the main attraction in the food here. Just like Daman and Goa, Diu was also a Portuguese colony until 1961. Daman & Diu is now a union territory and is governed from New Delhi. Diu town has its culture of its own which appeals to many people. The island is around 11 km and is separated by a 3km narrow channel from the mainland and two enclaves. The town is lovely and even the market area is very good. There are a number of places to stay there and the restaurants are equally good too.
