Dwarahat is a beautiful small hill town situated in the Almora District of Uttrakhand. Dwarahat is extremely popular for the Government Engineering College named as Kumaon Engineering College (KEC). Dwarahat is filled with the natural beauty and is rich in flora. If one finds out Dwarahat to be a bit more developed despite of being a small town in the hilly region than it is just because of the existence of this college.
Dwarahat also have a rich heritage of temples and the most popular temple is the Dunagiri Temple. This temple is always crowded as many devotees come here to worship. A famous fair is held in this temple during Navrataras known as Doonagiri Mela. Some 10 kilometers away from the Dunagiri Temple, the famous Pandukholi is situated which is said to be the place where the Pandavas lived during their exile period. Other temples of Dwarahat are The Shakti Temple, Naithna Temple etc.
