Located very close to Warangal, the Etunagaram Wildlife Sanctuary is home to a large number of animals and birds. One of the oldest sanctuaries in Andhra Pradesh, the best time to visit this place is between October and April. Consisting mostly of teak trees, this deciduous forest stretches across an undulating landscape with its highest point around four hundred and fifty meters above sea level. With small meandering streams and rivulets and the Godavari River passing through it, the sanctuary is a perfect habitat for Chital, Chinkara, Wolf, Jackal, Black Buck, Leopard and the magnificent Tiger along with other animals and a large number and variety of birds. The best way to enjoy your trip here and get a chance to come across the denizens of the forest is to trek through the sanctuary. Alternately, one can avail the Jeep Safari and the services of a local guide as you wind your way through the jungle.
