European City for 4-5 days.

I`m in the process of organizing a trip for myself, wife and youngest son (he`ll be 11 at time of travel). We`re looking at going on a similar 10 day tour of Poland that my daughter and I went on last year (that`s the easy part), but would like to also tack on a stay of about 4-5 days somewhere else in Europe either pre or post the Poland tour which starts in Warsaw and ends in Prague.
Last year was easy, I took my 14 year old daughter to Paris which was just perfect. When we came back and asked our youngest about where he`d like to go if he could do the same thing...he said "Not Paris...it`s too girly" which of course isn`t true, but I also wouldn`t want to impose Paris on him, even though I think it`s offers a great deal.
So here`s my question. What would you suggest for a European city that would otherwise be of interest to an 11 year old boy; and along with your suggestions, if you can recommend good hotels (2 or 3 star) that are close to sights or close to good public transport. Economical transport to Warsaw or from Prague would also be a consideration.
Personally, I`d like to go to Vienna, but don`t know that it would be that appealing to my son. Rome? Florence? Nordic: Stockholm, Helsinki?
Your advice as always is the best on the Web.....
