The Gadisar Lake is located in the southern section of the city Jaisalmer. One can enjoy a calm boat ride on these waters during the sunset hours. One can see many shrines and pavilions which are lined up on the banks of the lake along with a domed pavilion which is located in the middle. There is an interesting fact about this lake that it has never dried up inspite of being located in the middle of a desert as the major source of water for this lake was the Indira Gandhi Canal.
One can also purchase bread and feed the catfish to whom the Gadisar Lake is home sweet home. There is no Entry Fee for visiting the Gadisar Lake. The lake can be visited on all days of the week from 12:00 AM - 12:00 PM.
