The Ganesh temple is dedicated to the Hindu god, Lord Ganesh. The temple is located in Ratananda, which is at a distance of 5 kms away from the main city of Jodhpur. Lord Ganesh is always the first god to be worshipped before starting any holy rituals in the Hindu religion, and is also the most famous and widely worshipped God, amongst all the Hindu gods. He is said to be the remover of obstacles and the lord of beginnings.
The Ganesha temple is believed to have been constructed around the same site where at point of time a teacher found a large Ganesh statue on the Ratananda hills. Today one can see the idols of Riddhi, Prosperity, as well as Siddhi, which is Spiritual Power. Riddhi and Siddhi are known as the companions of Lord Ganesha and are placed on either side of Lord Ganesha in the sanctum of the temple. As one enters the temple entrance, one can also see an idol of the snake god, known as Naag dev. People believe that all these idols have emerged by themselves from the rock outface. The temple is a well known tourist attraction. The temple is most visited on Wednesday, the day of Lord Ganesha.
