Guganathaswamy Temple is situated at Kanyakumari. Constructed under the aegis of Raja Raja Cholan, probably the greatest of the Chola dynasty kings, the Guganathaswamy Temple is a classic example of the temple design and architecture of the Chola dynasty period. The temple has 16 inscriptions which are dated back to the 11th century. Devotees and historians both visit this temple which has significance for both of them. A beautiful temple, it is worth a visit when you are in this part of the world.
