Hamta pass is a well known trek which takes you almost 4-5 days which can be accessed from Manali. While on the trek you will cross the Hamta pass which is located at an altitude of 4270m over the Pir Panjal. The village of Prini is located beyond the Hamta Pass which can be visited by bus on the Manali Nagar road. Most of the people prefer to put up camps here and lot many number of camps are organized in the village of Prini.
On following the route from the village Prini you would climb through the beautiful pine forests to Sethan, and then finally reach the open meadows to Chikha. There is a campsite close to a waterfall where you get used to the climate and feel comfortable before you head to the foot pass at Juara. The climb is very steep and tiring too however one can enjoy seeing the sublime snow-peak views from the top. Once you descent, you can continue going towards Chatru or you could break the journey by resting at a camp near the riverside camp at Shiagouru. From Chatru, buses are available and these take you in the northern direction towards, Ladakh, and towards the eastern side the road leads you to Lahaul Spiti and south towards Manali.
