Built in 1897, this was the summer palace of the rajas of Awagarh. Palace Belvedere, as the name suggests, is a heritage hotel. A once upon a time palace, it still retains its old world charm while the decor of the hotel adds to its regal character. The corridors are lined with tiger skins while the lounge has a whole collection of game trophies that have been mounted on the walls.
Much thought has been given to the decor of the 21 rooms, which are in sync with the overall feel of the place. Divided into 2 Standard Rooms, 11 Deluxe Rooms and 7 Suites, the rooms are tastefully furnished and well appointed with a television, telephone, cupboards, attached bathrooms and all modern amenities. The 12 Deluxe rooms have a study table, recliner, sofa and lamps while the 7 Suites are equipped with a dining table, living room and the perfect view of the lake.
Dining facilities include a multi cuisine restaurant that serves Indian, Chinese and Continental fare while morning tea/coffee are best served on the front lawns, accompanied by warm sunshine and a perfect view of the lake below.
Other facilities at the hotel include conference/banquet facilities, spacious parking, car rental service, courtesy car service, laundry and dry cleaning facilities and access to the Nainital Golf course on request.
Don't miss :
The lounge with its distinct royal decor, stately antique furniture and portraits of Maharajas lining the walls. It is an ideal place to read a book that could carry you back in time (with a little help from the ambiance, of course).
Situated on a hilltop overlooking the Naini Lake, the hotel lies just half a kilometre away from the lake and the main market area. It is one of the first hotels on the Mallital side and is easily accessible.
