The Indian state of Himachal Pradesh is also referred to as “Devbhumi” or the Land of the Gods. The state is located in the western Himalayas. The state is full of natural beauty and is located in the midst of the deodar and pine forests, is full of apple and strawberry orchards, has lots of rivers, like Ravi, Chenab, Jhelum all cascade on the other end of a hill in waterfalls. This Indian state is spread in an area of 21,495 sq mi (55,670 km2).
Shimla, the “Queen of Hills” is the capital of Himachal Pradesh, and is thronged by tourist all year round. . The state shares its borders with the other Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir on the north, on the west and south is Punjab , on the south east by Uttarakhand and Haryana and in the eastern direction is the Tibet region. The economy of the state of Himachal Pradesh has been rated as the 3rd fastest developing economy in the whole of the country India. The state provides electricity of the other Indian states like those of Delhi, Haryana and Rajasthan. The state has been ranked as the 2nd least corrupt Indian state, after Kerala, which occupies the 1st place. The basic income of the people and the economy is largely dependent on three major sources of tourism, hydroelectric power and agriculture.
