The Hogenakkal waterfalls are also referred to as the “Niagara of India”. These waterfalls are located in the district of Dharampuri on the river of Kaveri in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, South India. These waterfalls are located at a distance of 180 kms from Bangalore and 46kms from Dharampuri. These waterfalls are visited by thousands of people every year as people believe that the water of these falls has medicinal properties and have known to cure major illnesses. The rocks of these waterfalls are Carbonatite and these rocks are believed to be the oldest of their kind in the whole of South Asia.
