Hotel Reservation Confirmation Question
Posted on Jul 02, 2013 by
I`m hoping that I can get a little assistance from you seasoned travelers.
I am going to Barcelona for 3 days in November prior to a transatlantic cruise. This is the first time I`ve traveled in Europe without a travel agent, but it was just air fare, the cruise on a line I`ve sailed with before and a hotel for 3 nights. I figured I could do it all on the Internet.
I have everything arranged, including travel insurance, but the hotel I booked with is leaving me a little insecure. When I did the online booking at their own web site, I got a confirmation number with a message that they would be sending me an email to confirm my booking. I never got the email. I have emailed the hotel two times from the "contact us" link on their web site. Both times I have gotten a thank you in Spanish meaning that my email went through, but still no email in return confirming me (or my request for a non- smoking room near the elevator).
My question is should I just go to Barcelona with my confirmation number from their web site, or should I try to contact them another way, like another email in Spanish, just forget it and book somewhere else or is this normal for Barcelona?
It`s the Silken Gran Hotel Havana which is part of a chain.
Thanks in advance for your help.
