Hussain Sagar Lake situated in Hyderabad is well known all throughout the world for the largest freestanding statue of Lord Buddha. The statue is so huge that it is 17.5m high and weighs 350 tonne it took 5 years to be completed. The statue had to be ferried to the Hussain Sagar Lake. The statue of Lord Buddha stands on a pedestal right in the middle of the lake. The visiting hours for this lake are from 9:00am to 9:00pm.
There is an entry fee of Rs 30. An enjoyable boat ride of 30 minutes is available which will take you to the statue. You could even see the statue of Lord Buddha from the Tank bunk road which is located on the eastern coast of the Hussain Sagar Lake. On your way back you could also visit another tourist destination of Hyderabad which is the Lumbini Park. Once can enjoy seeing the sunset and there is a very well known musical fountain too here. The visiting hours of the Lumbini Park are from 9:00am to 9:00pm and there is an entry fee of Rs 5.
