Occupying a place of immense pride in the scenic Brindavan Gardens is the mesmerizing “Dancing Fountain”. Thousands of tourists travel long distances to savor the delights of its dancing and twirling waters –that move like an elegant ballet performance, complete with colors, music and light. This movement of water is coordinated and controlled by the action of an underwater aquatic organ, which in turn is controlled by another device. An operator controls and manages the valves and pumps and also takes care of the light switches thronging a control panel. Each of these valves opens into separate water channels.
A careful regulation of the valves and ultimate force of water through each channel results in a remarkable display of beautiful dancing waterworks. The choreography or the pre-defined sets of instructions linked with the lighting and opening/ closing of valves has been programmed and installed on a computer and the sequence is then set to perform the display in an automatic play mode—a rare feat indeed!
The fountain is fed and run by the water pressure of the nearby KRS dam. An interesting laser show incorporates more beauty into this dancing sightseeing wonder and uses a sheet of water for screening purposes. Located in the Northern precincts of the gardens, this fountain is a “must-visit”.
