Pubs, Bars and Clubs

The bars in India have been segregated into two categories which are the locals ones which are mostly visited by men and the second one are the classy one is visited by the middle and upper class segments, which are only found in the metro cities of India. Another concept is that of the “resto-pub” or “resto-bar” which places where one can eat and drink too are. One can find the bigger clubs in the 5 star hotels which are mainly located in the big cities. The charges for visiting these is generally quite expensive as high as 3000 INR or $70 per couple. The legal age for drinking in India is 25 years for both men and women however it varies from state to state. The age for the legal consumption of alcohol varies across the different states in India. The Indian state of Gujarat is a "dry state", where alcohol is illegal without a permit. Many states have strict timelines which have to be followed as far as drinking is concerned, after these hours drinking in pubs and bars is strictly prohibited.

Outdoor Parties

For outdoor parties the best place in India is Goa. Goa is known to have a hippy culture and has a background in hosting many outdoor psychedelic trance parties. Although these parties are banned still these are being held, under wraps, and generally held in the beaches of Vagator, Anjuna, Arambol, Palolem and Morjim. Besides Goa one can also visit Kasol and Manali in Himachal Pradesh, Guwahati in Assam.
