The Scindia Museum, Gwalioris a huge one and consists of around 35 rooms. It was built by Maharaj JayajiRao in 1874 using the prisoners as the laborers. It is said that eight elephants were suspended from the palace’s ceiling to ensure that t could handle the chandeliers with 250 large light bulbs which is the largest pair in the world.
The various rooms are well maintained and have their own design and styles. The various decorating pieces were imported from various parts of the world and they give it a royal look. The palace is opened on all days except Wednesdays and one has to buy the ticket to enter inside. Also, there are additional charges for the camera.
