The Jakhoo Temple is located in Shimla. This is an ancient temple which has been dedicated to the Hindu god, Lord Hanuman, the monkey god. The temple at Jakhoo is known to have the highest statute of Lord Hanuman which is almost 98feet. The temple is located on the Jakhoo hill which is located at an altitude of 8000 feet above sea level. One can see lots of monkeys sitting all around the temple, and they are notorious too. This hill is also known as the highest peak of Shimla from where one can see the beautiful view of the Shivalik range as well as the city of Sanjauli. Every year a very big festival is held on Dusherra. One needs to climb up a fleet of stairs from the ridge, which is the path behind the church or can even hire a pony. People believe that Lord Hanuman had visited this temple when he was enroute to pick up the Sanjeevani booti.
