Jalavihar, located in Hyderabad, in the state of Andhra Pradesh (India), is a fun-filled water park stretching across an area of 12.5 acres (5.1 ha). It dominates the Hussain Sagar Lake and is located in close vicinity to Sanjeevaiah Park. Jalavihar had flung open its gates to the public on 20th May 2007. The land on which the park stands today, was allotted by the government led by N. Chandrababu Naidu, in the year 2000. However, the construction work related to the park was continuously stalled because of ownership and land encroachment problems. After this, a government probe was initiated on the methods of allocation of such projects. In mid-2006, India's apex court ordered the go ahead to this project on the grounds of sanctions given by the regional high court and the local pollution control board. In 2010, the public-private partnership model adopted by the project was considered as a profitable venture and the local government chose to continue the trend.
In July 2013, this amusement park employed Adinfinitum, an on-line development and social marketing company, to take up its online marketing, website redevelopment and social marketing needs –with the negotiations ending in a five year agreement amidst both the parties.
