The Kali temple in Kolkata is located in city of Kolkata and is located on the banks of the Hoogly River. The temple is dedicated to the Hindu goddess Kali. The temple is 200 years old. This temple is also believed to be one of the 51 Shakti Peethas in India. Kalighat is a ghat which is considered to be a very sacred place to Kali Ma. As per the Hindu mythology people believe that when the body of Goddess Parvati was destroyed, her right toe fell here.
