The Kanchenjunga museum, Gulmarg is a place where you could have a look at the different equipments used in wars as well as for mountaineering purposes which are used by the Indian Army. All these equipments have been displayed very nicely in this museum.
All of these mountaineering equipments are used by the Indian army as they make their way through the Himalayan ranges, glaciers and ridges. The war equipments showcase how wars are fought day in and out at this altitude, where goes completely numb in this altitude.
One can see the old and modern warfare and some of the mountaineering equipments and gears which have been used by the Indian Army since 1947. This museum was initially developed as a High-Altitude Warfare School and this museum was initially set up to memorialize 1997's first summit of Indian Army to Kanchenjunga. There is no entry fee for visiting the place and can be visited on all days of the week from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM in summers and in winters from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM.
