Kaza is the main attraction in theSpiti valley and is also the administrative headquarter for this region. Kaza is one of the most beautiful hill stations and is located on the bank of the Spiti River. It is surrounded by the high and dry mountains. There is not much greenery here and therefore due to the high altitude some people may face breathing troubles here. The place has a beautiful market including a number of restaurants and cafes. Kaza is also the starting point for trips to Ki Gompa and Kibber and treks into the mountains. Ladarcha festival is the most popular festival here.
The place experiences extreme cold weathers and receives heavy snow fall in winters during which it gets disconnected through the roads and therefore people preserve all the materials in advance. In summers also, the temperature doesn’t go that high and weather remain pleasant. In the months of June to August, one can visit this place and enjoy the most, as the roads get closed after September and remain closed till May or June. This small town has a life of its own and is lively even when it’s too far away from any city.
