This national park is located in the Golaghat and Nagaon districts on Assam, in North East India. Also known as a world heritage site. This park provides you the option of going in for an elephant safari ride and at the same time looking out for rhinoceros. This is supposed to have the largest breeding population of elephants, wild water buffalo and swamp deer. This national park is open from November to April. You would be surprised to know that this park houses almost 1855 India Rhinos which are one- horned, and this park has almost two- thirds of the world’s population of Rhinos, housed in it. The park is surrounded by the Brahmaputra River from all sides and covers an area of 378 sq kms.
Kaziranga national park is known as a Tiger reserve too as it is supposed to have the highest number of Tigers and also because it is known to be one of the wild breeding areas, except South Africa for the cat family like those for the leopards, Jungle cat, Fishing cat and the Indian Tigers. The other mammal’s one can see here are the Sloth bear, Indian Pangolins, Indian Gray Mongoose, and Large Indian Civet, Particolored flying squirrels, Golden Langur and many more species.
