Kullu is a beautiful town and the administrative capital of the Kullu district. The place is best known for Kullu Dussehra not only in India but outside as well. The event attracts tens of thousands of people all over the world and gets really crowded during that season. The devotees come in large numbers and local are worshipped in this event. Almost 200 idols are paraded right into town from neighboring temples, which are led by a huge rath (chariot) which holds the statue of Lord Raghunath from the Raghunath Temple in Sultanpur. The Dussehra celebrations are also of grandest level and include various happening ceremonies. Kullu is almost half an hour drive away from Manali and therefore those who visit Manali often stay in Kullu too. The market here is quite good and if you want to buy Kullu shawls, this is the best place. The Raghunath temple is also a popular place here. There are a number of food places too. One of the best authentic dishes of Kullu is Siddu and one should try that while visiting here.
