One of the main pilgrimage centers for the Buddhists, Kushinagar- Uttar Pradesh is the site where Buddha attained Parinirvana. The final resting place of Gautam Buddha, Kushinagar is a small town near the Indo-Nepal border. Populated with Stupas and monasteries dating back to ancient times, Kushinagar has also seen a revival of temples constructed here in modern times.
