The Lingti valley is known as the largest and also the longest side valley of Spiti. The valley runs North-East from Lingti village, which is located at an altitude of 3,460 meters, above sea level and stretches for approximately 60 kms, towards the head. The Lingti valley is known to be a living geological museum. The geological history of the valley goes back to 250 million years and the fossils found here are quite well known all over the world. The 'Gya Peak' is also present in the Lingti valley. At the summit of the Lingti valley, the Tibet, Spiti, Ladakh converge.
