Lord Subramanya Temple is located at Thiruthani Hill, Thiruthani, Kanyakumari. Constructed in the 17th century, the Lord Subramanya Temple was recently renovated in 1983. The temple is dedicated to Lord Subramanya and was built as a commemoration of his victory over Surapadma, a demon who the Lord vanquished in battle. Considered as a residence of the God and thus very sacred, the temple is known as the Aruppai Veedu by the locals. A large number of festivals are celebrated at the temple throughout the year and are attended by thousands of devotees.
