There are a large number of mandapams having brilliant internal sculptures are scattered along the main hill. Krishna Madapa which is among the earliest rock cut temple and predating the penance relief. The carvings depict the scene where Krishna was lifting Govardhana mountain to protect his kinsfolk from the wrath of Indra who could rain uncontrollably. There is also a Mahishamardini mandapa which is located near the lighthouse. You will find a number of scenes from Puranas being depicted in the sculptures here. The sculpture of goddess Durga is one of the most beautifully designed. There is an 8th century Olakkannesvara Temple which is mostly destroyed and only remains are left. This is located above the mandapa. There is a nuclear power station few kilometers from here and therefore you will not be allowed to take the photographs for security reasons.
