The Word Mi, means “people”, zo means hill, and ram means country. This is also known as the “Land of the Hill”. Mizoram was the 23rd state of India, and was declared as a state on the 20 February 1987. This Indian state is considered one of the Seven Sister States, which are listed in the North East India. Aizawal is the capital of Mizoram.
The Indian state of Mizoram shares its borders with the other states of Manipur, Tripura and Assam. The countries located close by are those of Burma and Bangladesh.
