Situated in the historic precincts of the Great Agra Fort, this beautiful mosque is made of pure marble –thus giving it its name and making it glisten like a pearl in moonlight.

Moti Masjid was built by Shah Jahan and those related to the royal court were allowed to worship here. The magnificence of this inspiring place of worship reaches higher levels with the addition of its side arcades—which are made completely in marble. It is interesting to note that some of the domes built along the parapet are in the Hindu style and offer a unique mix of diverse architectural patterns –linked with the designs of Islam and Hinduism alike. Moti Masjid was built across period of four years and reminds visitors of the style typical to Shah Jahan's reign.
