Mussorrie is a small yet a very beautiful hill station which is located in the Shivalik hills in the Garhwal Himalayas. This beautiful hill station is located at an altitude of 6170 feet above sea level. Mussorrie is also referred to as the Queen of hills. This small hill station is located at a distance of only 35 kms from the capital of Uttarakhand, namely Dehra Dun and 290 from the capital of India, New Delhi. The hill station is divided into two areas, namely the Picture palace side or the Library side. As you walk along both the areas, you will notice many good restaurants which serve multi cuisines like Chinese, Italian, and Mexican along with Indian food. A lot many numbers of shops are also located as you walk on the road, which is known as the mall road. Like in a typical hill station, here you will get to see many shops which deal in woolen clothes like shawls, cardigans, mufflers, gloves, caps, stocking, blankets and the list simply goes on and on. You will see many shops which sell beautiful wooden items like a serving spoon, wooden trays, key chains, key holders and even pen stands which are beautifully carved. From New Delhi there are many trains which go to Dehra Dun and then from there you can take a cab or even board a bus. There are many good hotels and guest houses located in Mussoorie. The well known Jaypee group of hotels, Savoy, Fortune Select and Country Inn are some of the prominent hotels located in this beautiful Hill station.
