Nagari is a beautiful town in the state of Andhra Pradesh. It has nice connectivity by road and rail to other major cities of the country. The weather is hot and humid during most parts of the year. It is best to visit Nagari during the months of November to February.
The culture of Nagari is very traditional. Men mostly wear traditional attire like Dhoti, Lungi and women wear Saree. The festivals and temples of Nagari are a great attraction for tourists and they come here in large numbers. The old Shiva temple in Nagari is very popular here and people come here regularly for worship and prayers. The Village goddess temple Ponniyamman is considered very sacred among the local people. The Sri Desamma Vari Temple is another famous temple of Nagari. Devotees believe that their eye problems can be treated if the abhishekam water is poured into their eyes in this temple. Mainly the prayers in this temple take place on Tuesday.
Some other temples like Om shakti temple, Veerbhadra Swamy temple, Bugga Agraharam and Dhropathi temple are important places in the region for tourism. Some famous local festivals celebrated in Nagari are Aadi Kruthika when Kaavadi is taken for Lord Subramanyeswara swamy. Every year between Jul-15 and Aug 15, the devotees pray to Lord Desamma on Tuesdays. Many tourists and devotees from far away places gather here to take part in the prayers. Th e9 day long Kalyana mahotsav in Dasara temple is also very popular.
