The Nagarjunakonda museum is situated on an island in the Nagarjunasagar dam is a wonderful place to visit as there are the remains of the history being stored here. It remains open on all days : Monday - Sunday: 9.00 AM - 4.00 except Friday closed entry fee is quite cheap (for Indian Rs. 5/- and for Foreigner Rs. 100/-). In this nicely designed museum you will find a number of stone age picks, hoes and spears that are kept on the exhibition. There are also Buddha statues and the stones that are nicely carved. The stored remains here are mostly from Buddha’s times around 3rd century AD and tell the story of his life.
There are many carvings on the stones which depict various messages concealed in them. You can also go to the Nagarjuna Sagar lake,Andhra Pradeshand have some quality time there. There are a number of transport opportunities available and you will not have to struggle for that. It is a nice holiday spot and people come here in large numbers specially during the weekends.
