Namak Haram Deorhi is located in Murshidabad, West Bangal and known as a well famous royal palace of Mir Jafar. The meaning of Namak Haram Deorhi in Hindi is "Traitor's Gate" in which Namak Haram means “One who can not be trusted” and Deorhi means “Gate”. This Mansion is also known as Jafarganj Deorhi and Traitor’s gate and situated just opposite to the Jafarganj Cemetery. Namak Haram Deorhi is well known by two identities one is main gate leading towards palace and another is Mir Jafar’s Mansion.
Being as the residence of Mir Jafar till he was Munsad of Bengal and Subha’s Commander-in-chief Namak Haram Deorhi is also assassination place for Nawab Siraj ud-Daulah. The features of this palace are fortified turrets and towers and canon which is used to protect the palace from invasions. And its architecture is old and a structure of British Era. The best time to visit this mansion is from October month to December Month.
