The Namdroling Monastery is also called as Thekchog Namdrol Shedrub Dargye Ling is a well known and the largest teaching center of the Nyingma lineage of Tibetan Buddhism in the world. It is situated in Bylakuppe, Mysore, Karnataka in India. This monastery is believed to home for Sangha community of over five thousand Lamas. These Lamas includes both monks and nuns.
The Namdroling Monastery was being entrenched by Kyabje Penor Rinpoche in 1963. Its starting structure was built as a temple from bamboo which covers an area of 80 sq. Ft. It hosts numerous ceremonies every year and host traditional Lama Dance. It has beautiful art with soothing colors engraved at its all over inside and outside which fascinates tourists to visit here. One can spend time here as it very quite and peaceful place.
One can see here the Golden temple presided over by an 18 meter high gold-plated Buddha. Its a great place for meditation.
